Your community group can get cash grant

THE council’s portfolio holder for communities has asked local people to come up with ideas to enhance the community.
Lynn Worrall was speaking in support of the Community Grants programme, which provides grants from £500 to £5,000 for revenue or small capital purchases up to £1,000, and aims to make a visible difference to the voluntary sector in Thurrock.
There is also a Small Sparks Fund, which gives smaller grants of up to £250. Proposals must benefit the community.
Cllr Worrall said: “Small Sparks helps people take local action, get people who don’t know each other to come together and make the most of neighbourhood resources.
“This also highlights our commitment to the voluntary sector – these grants are being administered through the Thurrock Council for Voluntary Services, which has also provided some of the funding for Small Sparks.”
