New group to help hospice services
7:10am Friday 30th August 2013 in News
ST Luke’s Hospice has launched a new service meaning residents and families can have a say in how future care services are provided and developed.
The Hospice User Group will allow people directly invoved with the Basildon-based hospice – which serves Thurrock – to have further input in the care given.
The group will have monthly meetings in which reviews of services, analysing feedback and improving patient and carer knowledge of the range of services will all be assessed.
Chris Metham, Hospice User Group chairman, said: ‘’St Luke’s has a well- earned and long- standing reputation as a centre of love and care and for medical excellence.
“Each of the group members has received support in difficult times either for themselves or loved ones.
“In return each has declared their intent to help the hospice develop services for the future.’’
