AN amateur theatre group has fulfilled its dream of performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Thurrock Courts Players’ Vic Gray, Martyn Williams and John Scowen – with more than 100 years performing experience between them – took their production of Safe to the world renowned drama festival.

The play, written and directed by Grays actor Luke Coldham, takes place inside a bank safe where the three criminal masterminds have become trapped after agreeing to stage one last heist together before retirement.

They proceed to delve into each man’s psyche with hilarious and heart-wrenching consequences.

Vic said: “There are thousands of high-quality performances here, offering the visitor so much choice, that it is a miracle we have attracted so many people to our own humble offering.”

The cast also performed at Canal Cafe Theatre in London’s West End and will be appearing again at the Brentwood Drama Festival on Thursday, September 19.
