And Kingstonian ended Rocks unbeaten start with a 3-0 win. Two second half goals killed off East Thurrock's chances and their young squad will have to pick themselves up.
Two Ben Smith penalties, one at the end of each half give Fleet a hard earned point at Witham. Mark Stimson's side went 2-1 down early in the second half but recovered to steal a point.
Tilbury's dreadful start continued with a 3-0 defeat away to Harlow Town. And Aveley conceded three goals in the first 20 minutes on their way to defeat at VCD Athletic. They got a goal back late in the second half before Billy Holland was sent off in stoppage time
Full time results from elsewhere:
Witham 2 - 2 Thurrock
Kingstonian 3 - 0 East Thurrock United
Harlow Town 3 - 0 Tilbury
VCD Athletic 3 - 1 Aveley
Goals from Jared Small and Jack West give Blues a 2-0 win at Millfield and they maintain their 100 per cent winning record in the Ryman Premier League.
GRAYS ATHLETIC 2 - 0 ENFIELD TOWN
Blues spring a counter attack. Duru takes it down the line but Hamdan is offside as he collects the through ball.
Tilbury lose 3-0 at Harlow. Could be a very long season for Dockers...
Thurrock pen ben Smith makes it 2-2— @ThurrockFCscore 17 August 2013
Hopefull ball into the box by Hamdan is met by Wild who, I think, is trying to head the ball back to his keeper. But he gets it all wrong and Duru is almost in. He fails to connect though.
Four minutes added on.
Kamurasi catches a shot by Campbell. The Blues stopper is another to have had a good half.
GOAL: VCD Athletic 3-1 AVELEY - Unknown (83')— @AveleyFC 17 August 2013
Carlos subbed off now. Recieves an ovation from the fans. Very good stuff today from the non-league veteran winger. Chuck Duru is on in his place for first Grays appearance.
Superb stuff from Carlos as he plays a nutmeg in the middle then plays through Hamdan. His pace gets him well clear of Wild but his low shot is saved well by East. Should have scored.
Good sequence of passes from Blues. But Lalite then gives it away and Blues get back well to deny an Enfield counter attack.
Joao Carlos then has a shot saved by East after he had beaten Lockie midway inside the Town half.
Town don't look like mounting a comeback at this stage, but as I type that Campbell is denied by Kamurasi from close range!
GOAL: KINGSTONIAN 3-0 East Thurrock United - Andre McCollin (77') http://t.co/olRaTerGG3— @1EastThurrockFC 17 August 2013
GOAL: HARLOW TOWN 3-0 Tilbury - Junior Dadson (78')— @tilburyfcscores 17 August 2013
Blues sub: Jared Small off for Usama Hamdan now.
GOAL: KINGSTONIAN 2-0 East Thurrock United - Ryan Moss (74') http://t.co/olRaTerGG3— @1EastThurrockFC 17 August 2013
Great save by Kamurasi!!! The free kick is low and round the wall but Kamurasi down to his right well to tip the ball onto the post. Good effort by Hope, smart stop by Kamurasi.
Free kick in a dangerous area for Town now. It came after Beaney, with his first contribution, failed to clear.
Enfield sub: Jermaine Osei and Joe O'Brien on for Corey Whiteley and Micheal Ewang.
Blues sub: Kenny Beaney on for Alex Cruickshank.
GOAL: HARLOW TOWN 2-0 Tilbury - Leon Antoine (71')— @tilburyfcscores 17 August 2013

Excellent work by Blues in the midfield. Lalite and Small dispossess Ewang. Lalite threads it through to Carlos who from 20 yards out and at an angle shoots low. East parries and thankfully for the visitors, the ball goes behind Small and Wild can clear.
Very good defending by Carlos. Working back down the line, makes a good challenge on Wallace, winning a free kick in the process.
He's played well today.
Good tackle from Flynn as Town come forward. Corner...
Only one man there, as ever... Baker clears Lockie's corner.
Nice football from Enfield. Good one-two sets up Campbell but his shot between two defenders is well wide.
Huge Kamurasi kick, from one box to the other, almost sets Carlos up. But East collects.
Jack West gathers the ball on the edge of the box, in acres of space, he heads for goal before shooting low past East to make it 2-0.
I said there was a lack of quality first half. Blues excellent so far in the second half.
GOOOAAALLL!!! GRAYS ATHLETIC 2 - 0 Enfield Town - Jack West, 60'
West lays the ball off to Carlos, who bounds down the line and beats Ewang before firing a shot at goal, which East spills with Small on hand to pop the ball into the net.
GOOOALLL!! GRAYS ATHLETIC 1 - 0 Enfield Town - Jared Small, 57'
Wild receiving treatment for a cut on his forehead. Blues play on but can't capitalise on their one man advantage.
Joao Carlos then does excellently to get on the end of Lalite's hopeful punt. Carlos sees East of his line but his chipped effort is on to the roof of the net.
Quick free kick played into Campbell by Lockie as Blues contest decision. His cross is blocked by Nightingill at near post. Corner, cleared again by Baker.
Witham 1 Thurrock 1 49mins— @ThurrockFCscore 17 August 2013
Lovely disguised pass into West by Cruickshank. The Blues forward should have struck it left footed first time after getting into a great position in the box. Instead he decided to control and turn, spurning a chance to test East.
More great defending by Baker to stop Wallace getting onto a free ball. Kamurasi almost spills it though.
GOAL: HARLOW TOWN 1-0 Tilbury - Robbie Martin (49')— @tilburyfcscores 17 August 2013
254 here at Millfield. Feels like more.
Early corner for Blues, beats everyone and goes out for a goal kick.
Cruickshank and Small get us underway.
Here come the players for the second half.
Half time scores from elsewhere:
Kingstonian 1 - 0 East Thurrock United
Witham 0 - 1 Thurrock
VCD Athletic 3 - 0 Aveley
Harlow Town 0 - 0 Tilbury
An entertaining half, but not because the football's been good. Enfield the better side, looking far more dangerous. Grays need to be better in the second half if they're going to get anything from this.
GRAYS ATHLETIC 0 - 0 ENFIELD TOWN
Kirby hits the bar for Town! Lovely pass laid out to him on the edge of the box, he shoots and smashes the bar. The rebound is deflected over for a corner which Blues clear. Ball back in lands on the roof of the net.
Witham 0 Thurrock 1 (Ben Smith 45min pen)— @ThurrockFCscore 17 August 2013
Two minutes added on to a half completely void of quality.
This time Kamurasi connects well with Whiteley's corner to punch clear.
Pope clears Whiteley's cross behind as Enfield pick and probe. They look more likely to open the scoring.
At the other end, there's a sense of de ja vu as Small scoops a ball high over the bar from 25 yards when other options were on.
Great tackle by Baker to deny Adam Wallace who is through on goal until the centre half catches him and marshalls the ball into Kamurasi's arms. Wallace should have scored.
Town getting in behind Blues far too easily.
Enfield have a very strong shout for a penalty turned down as Hope tumbles under a challenge from Pope on the left hand side of the box. Enfield contingent incensed. Referee moves to cool anger by speaking to Town's assistant boss.
The ball goes over West's foot and out for a throw, just as it looks like we might see a sequence of more than three passes.
Mark Kirby sees the game's first yellow card for dissent. Unhappy at decision to award Blues a free kick for tackle on Small.
I think it's fair to say this game is lacking in quality at the moment. Both sides very wasteful in possession and in front of goal.
More sloppiness from Grays now. They're let off as Flynn gets back to clear a through ball missd by Nightingill then Ramos-Gonzalez squanders possession cheaply in the middle, leading to an Enfield corner which Blues deal with.
East does really well to collect Small's through ball with Carlos bearing down.
Kirby bends the ball just wide of the post from 20 yards.
West gets a talking to from referee Andrew Aylott for an aerial clash which left White grounded. He's up now.
Town defend the corner with ten and clear well.Throw in now which Pope takes quickly but Small inadvertently flicks the ball over the bar.
Enfield Town have a man down. But that doesn't stop Grays playing on. Ramos-Gonzalez works the ball out to Lalite, who tees up Flynn to leather a 30 yard thunderbolt which East does really well to tip over the bar.
The Enfield man down, who I think is Michael Ewand gets some treatment now.
Carlos gathers Flynn's throw in and crosses for the byline. The ball hangs in the air, East, the Enfield stopper has no idea where it's going. Thankfully for him, it lands on the roof of his net.
GOAL: KINGSTONIAN 1-0 East Thurrock United - Ryan Moss (19') http://t.co/olRaTerGG3— @1EastThurrockFC 17 August 2013
GOAL: VCD ATHLETIC 3-0 Aveley - Tyrus Gordon (17')— @AveleyFC 17 August 2013
Not much football being played in the middle of the park. End to end stuff, Grays with a corner now, which is over hit by Carlos.
Campbell makes some space for himself on the edge of the box. His shot is blocked but Kirby sends the loose ball high over the bar.
Corey Whiteley then sends another long range shot high and wide of the goal.
The ball is then played long over the top to Tyler Campbell. He sprints clear of Flynn but is denied by Kamurasi. Should have scored!
Corner comes in from Whiteley. Again, Kamurasi comes for it and misses. Again, though, Blues get away with it.
Corner for Blues now after Small instigates a good counter attack with a sweet turn on the right. West crosses, Wild puts it behind.
Then Wild clears the corner.
Corner for Enfield as Grays struggle to clear a ball into the box. Kamurasi flaps at the ball in the air, Baker heads it behind
But the corner's dealt with well.
Swift counter attack by Enfild now, Kirby picked out, he shoots from 20 yards and Kamurasi palms away, getting just enough on it to deny Wallace reaching it.
Horror start for Aveley away to newly promoted VCD. Enfield much the better side here in the first ten minutes. Baker keeping the visitors at bay single handedly. He's made six or seven clearances. Blues still struggling to keep the ball.
GOAL: VCD ATHLETIC 2-0 Aveley - James Duckworth (8')— @AveleyFC 17 August 2013
GOAL: VCD ATHLETIC 1-0 Aveley - Tyrus Gordon (5')— @AveleyFC 17 August 2013
Back pass to Kamurasi by Nightingill. The pass is fine, but Kamurasi miscontrols under pressure from Liam Hope and almost concedes possession. Somehow, he scrambles the ball away on the penalty spot!
Enfield on top in these early stages. Baker heads clear for a third time. Blues very sloppy in possession so far.
Baker again clears as an Enfield free kick is played in by Lockie from exactly the same spot as moments earlier.
Craig Pope makes his 100th appearance for Grays today.
Little of note to report on this game so far as Baker clears a free kick with his head.
