GET on your bike and take part in this year’s Thurrock Bike Week.

Between Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 23 Thurrock Council working with the Thurrock Re-Use Partnership and Sustrans – a national charity - have organised several free cycling events, aimed at families, seasoned cyclists and people who have never cycled before.

Through the week there will be organised cycle rides as well as cycle maintenance courses and free bicycle checks.

New for this year is the HGV Awareness Day where people will be able to get behind an HGV’s steering wheel to see what it’s like from a lorry drivers’ perspective, highlighting the blind spots and how cyclists, pedestrians and cars are totally invisible at certain points to a driver of an HGV.

This event will be taking place at Lakeside’s car park outside H&M on Saturday, June 22.
All of the events are free and open to everyone.
