CONFIDENCE helped a huge troupe of young dancers through their Britain’s Got Talent audition with a “yes” from all four judges.

Youth Creation, of Stanford-le-Hope, which has more than 30 members aged seven to 14, sailed through the first round of the prime time ITV talent show on Saturday with compliments ringing in their ears.

Usually stern show supremo Simon Cowell, pictured, said: “You lit up the room.”

The stage came alive as the dancers, dressed in bright coloured T-shirts bearing the motif “I hear YC”, dazzled the audience with acrobatic moves to pulsing dance tracks.

But it was front man – or front boy – Max who impressed Cowell most.

When Max responded to the judge’s questions of whether they were any good and whether he was confident with a simple “yeah”, Cowell said: “I like you.”

The dancers hugged and cheered after Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams also voted them through.

Cowell then turned to his fellow judges and said: “One thing that made it special was the confidence.”

The dancers, their parents and supporters watched the pre-recorded show at Homesteads Village Hall, where they are based, on Saturday evening.
