A13 sliproad at Stanford-le-Hope reopening ahead of schedule
4:51pm Tuesday 19th March 2013 in News By Emma Thomas
A MAJOR sliproad on the A13 will be reopened earlier than planned.
Contractors J. Murphy & Sons Limited has announced the London-bound off-sliproad at Stanford-le-
Hope will reopen to traffic on Tuesday, March 26 - six days early.
As part of the next stage of the improvements, the London-bound on-sliproad will closed to traffic from Tuesday, March 26 at 4am. Drivers that usually travel along this route will be diverted to the Five Bells Roundabout for six weeks.
Simon Fay, Murphy construction manager, said: “We do appreciate the patience and understanding of all road users during the construction of the junction improvements and we will continue to work to minimise the disruption caused to them.”
The works will widen the A13 / A1014 junction from two to three lanes and is part of work to increase road capacity at the junction ahead of the opening of the London Gateway port, owned by DP World.
Each one of the four sliproads will be widened as part of the works.
Regular commuters along the A13 are being advised to join an email alerts system at www.a13roadworks.co.uk. This gives advance warning of changes so people can plan ahead.

Is it just me or does anyone else spot the typing error in the above statement?
