A DANCE school owner has spoken of her pride in her “stars of tomorrow”, after pupils performed to a sell-out audience at the Towngate Theatre in Basildon.
Youngsters from Regency Dance School, in East Tilbury, were part of the Stars of Tomorrow show, for the Children’s Trust Charity on February 21.
The girls joined four other Essex dance schools to entertain the audience with their performances of Cats and Time Warp, showcasing a host of dance styles, from tap-dancing to ballet.
They spent the day rehearsing at the theatre and all stayed awake to enjoy the whole experience, despite the teachers’ worries that some would grow sleepy as the day wore on.
But all lasted the day and put on a superb performance.
On April 27, all the girls that took part will receive a Stars of Tomorrow trophy and will perform the showcase again for any family members or friends who did not get to see them.
Lisa, who has been running Regency for nearly three years, teaching two to 17-year-olds all types of dance, said: “My youngest dancer had just turned four and for half of the class, this was their first time performing.
“We were really proud. The thing the girls loved the most was seeing their parents in the crowd and putting on the make-up and costumes.”
