Dreams goes into administration

A LAKESIDE bed shop has slipped into administration.

Ernst & Young have been appointed joint administrators of Dreams.

The retailer has 266 stores across the UK, employing about 2,000 people.

Administrators sold the business and assets to a new company controlled by Sun Capital Partners, which means it will be trading as normal.

The new owner will honour customer orders where part payment deposits have been made.

Alan Hudson, joint administrator, said: “Over 1,600 jobs have been transferred and the future of Dreams has been safeguarded.”

Deposit paid on the Monday. Bought by new owners on the Tuesday. I cancelled my order and thankfully received my deposit back in full. Yesterday received a receipt confirming the refund. However, i'm gutted the bed was a beauty :-(

I am not at all surprised by this. I know of someone who ordered a double bed and ended up having three delivered to them at different times. Nobody in their warehouse knows what is coming in or going out. Its a case of buy 1 double bed and get 2 free, no wonder they are not making any money.
