Post Office reopening hit by delay
10:30am Wednesday 13th March 2013 in News
GRAYS Post Office is still not open – despite the reopening being scheduled for this week.
The post office, which was in the WH Smith store in Grays Shopping Centre, closed on March 2 and a bus service was set up to take customers to the South Ockendon branch.
Customers had been assured this was a temporary move and it would reopen on Monday, but the store remains closed.
A Post Office spokeswoman said: “We have a temporary solution organised, but are waiting for the handover of the premises.
“Meanwhile we are continuing to operate a shuttle bus to take customers to South Ockendon.
“The service will start at 9am and will run on the hour and on the half hour, with the last pick-up at 4pm.
“We apologise for inconvenience caused and would like to reassure customers we are committed to maintaining services to people in the Grays area.”
