STRAIGHT off the back of a successful gig with X Factor finalist Marcus Collins, Thurrock musician Arthur Walwin is being picked up by major DJs.

The 22-year-old singer, of Drake Close, Chafford Hundred, now has his single All For You on the Radio 1 playlist – played by the likes of Fearne Cotton and Greg James.

After sending off the tune to BBC Introducing, it was picked up by the radio station.

Arthur, who went to the Chafford Hundred School, said: “It was really good to hear it being played, just to hear the DJs talking about it and stuff.

“I have gained a lot of fans from it and a lot of Twitter followers.”

Now he is preparing for a weekender with a French band with dates in Paris and London and he has plans to record more music this year.

Ambitious Arthur, who has been in bands from an early age, is keen to keep the momentum going. He said: “I’m doing a mini-weekender in June 7 and 8.

“I am going to get together and do some new songs, I’ve been trying to work towards an album for the end of the year.

“I am going to try to do another music video in the summer and try to get on TV, do some more tours. I am putting together a full UK tour towards the end of the year.”

All For You is available to buy on iTunes, with a video on YouTube.
