Grays Post Office to reopen on Monday

GRAYS Post Office will reopen on Monday March 11 after a week-long closure.

The store was forced to close as WH Smith packed up its stock and moved out of the town at the weekend. The Post Office have laid on a shuttle bus to South Ockendon this week for customers but will reopen their service in the former WH Smith store on Monday with a temporary agent.

Thurrock Council leader John Kent was informed of the news via letter from the Post Office which said the firm are hopeful of recruiting a new permanent partner for the unit.

Cllr Kent is hopeful that service hours might be extended under any new arrangement.

I have just heard, whether it is correct or not, that the Post Office will only be there for a short time and then relocated to the area of the Old Sorting Office, Grays - has anyone heard about this, or is it just rumour. Older folk will not be able to make that journey, easily.

That. Land belongs to the council for the hospitial that never did happen the post office moved into a joint unit to save money the post service used to own that depot they seriously are not going to buy any land unless u mean their planning on moving into the new building that's adjacent to the land u mention the new sorting office not the old u should of said
