A13 closed after multi-vehicle smash

THE eastbound carriageway of the A13 is closed at the Orsett Cock roundabout following a three vehicle collision.

A woman was left trapped following the accident and happened just before 2pm.

She was cut free by 2.40pm but the road remains closed. Two people were taken to Basildon hospital.

The slip road was closed while the three vehicles, a grey Fiat Punto, green S-Type Jaguar and red Volkswagen Polo were recovered.

Roads in the area are congested, with roadworks at the Stanford-Le-Hope junction with Manorway making traffic issues in the area worse.
