Help create costumes for video production
7:00am Friday 1st March 2013 in News
COSTUME designers are needed to help with a new video being filmed in Tilbury.
Artist Lynn MacRitchie will be filming her newest video The Towers of Ilium at Coalhouse Fort Park, in East Tilbury, in April.
The Towers of Ilium is inspired by the Trojan War. It will use the landscape of Coalhouse Fort Park as a stunning backdrop to a dramatic procession reflecting the history of the site and weaving classical tales of heroes and war together with Thurrock’s past.
Volunteers from across Thurrock have already come forward to take part as modern day Trojans – and now costumes are needed.
Teams will work with professional costume maker Lesley Ford to develop the costumes for the Trojans.
But Lesley needs help with printing, dyeing and embroidering on to items of every day clothing.
Some of this will be messy, so volunteers should wear old clothes to take part in the costume workshops.
No previous experience of costume making is required, just an interest and a willingness to get involved and learn.
The first workshop will be tomorrow (Saturday, March 2) from 2pm to 5pm at The Barns, at High House Production Park, in Purfleet.
The workshop is open to everyone over 18-years-old. Those aged from 12 to 17 may attend but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The workshop will run from 2pm until 5pm.
