Jobs to be created as new store opens

A NEW store will create 80 jobs in Thurrock.

Yash Gupta, Thurrock mayor, will open the new Dunelm Mill shop on Thursday, March 7, at the retail park at Lakeside.

The 31,200 sq ft store will be spread over two floors and sell home furnishings.

There will also be a custom-made curtain department, cook shop and a craft department at the store which will be open seven days a week.

Online orders will also be available to be collected from the Thurrock store.

Chief executive Nick Wharton said: “We are always excited about opening a new store.

“It takes a lot of hard work, investment and commitment getting a new store up and running.

“We are confident Thurrock will play a big part in the continued success of the company and look forward to introducing shoppers to our ‘Simply Value for Money’ homewares offering.”

This is great - could we not have more big stores in Grays town, or nearer to?
This would bring more interest to our town!
