A GRAYS-based rape crisis centre attended a reception hosted by Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at Clarence House.
South Essex Rape & Incest Crisis Centre went to the event, which was for those involved in supporting victims of rape and sexual abuse.
Since opening in 1984, SERICC has provided more than 80,000 counselling and advocacy sessions for women and girls.
The Clarence House reception follows on from a visit the Duchess made to SERICC in October 2011 at which she pledged her support in raising awareness of the issues surrounding sexual violence.
Sheila Coates, SERICC’s director, added: “We were really pleased the Duchess chose to demonstrate her support for Rape Crisis.”
