THURROCK, already a start and end point for ships sailing the world over, could soon be a place of origin for cruise-liners venturing to some of the most exotic destinations on the planet.
Port of Tilbury owner, Forth Ports, will exhibit at the Cruise Shipping Miami Conference in Florida this March, with a view to attracting new business to its Tilbury cruise terminal.
The conference brings together major cruise industry players and is regarded as its best professional showcase.
Richard Exley, marine and cruise manager at the Port of Tilbury, said: “Forth Ports’ cruise terminals had an excellent 2012 season and we’re looking forward to 2013.
“With so much potential, together with investment and upgrading of our facilities, we thought the time was right to exhibit in Miami.
“We pride ourselves on offering a first rate service and look forward to telling our story on an international stage.”
