A BULPHAN Primary School pupil has won a writing competition and bagged £250 worth of prizes.
Josie Adams, nine, came first in a South Essex College-run contest aimed at getting young people in Thurrock to think about their futures.
Youngsters across the borough were asked to write a piece under the title “My life in ten years time”, inspired by the new Thurrock Campus building, which opens in Grays in September 2014.
Four schools entered, but Josie’s tale came out on top, winning her school £200 worth of Waterstones vouchers and £50 worth of stationery. She also won a framed photo of her entry, a Parker pen and an organiser.
Laura Fishleigh, headteacher at Bulphan Primary School, said: “I thought the competition was a great opportunity to get the children thinking about their future aspirations.”
