UKIP councillor: Cameron's "smoke and mirrors"

Robert Ray Robert Ray

THURROCK’S first UKIP councillor has called David Cameron’s announcement “smoke and mirrors”.

He said: “They don’t know what they are going to discuss with the Europeans. The shopping list Cameron is going to go in with, the Europeans won’t discuss.

"The Europeans want a fiscal and federal union. It’s like going into a shop that sells furniture and asking for bathroom equipment.

“They’re dressing it up to the British public to say they can take back powers when they can’t.

“Article 52 of the Lisbon treaty means it’s not complicated for members to leave the EU if they want, but Cameron is complicating things by starting this two year process.”

“We need to be out of it altogether.”

I'll give Cameron credit for attempting to renegotiate our relationship with Europe but it's going to be hard work to get all 26 other member states to allow Britain to take back powers. Personally the only way is out altogether. We can still trade with Europe, be allies without donating £53m a day. I also think the benefits to the UK are far outweighed by the negatives - free movement of people being one big mistake.

I hope I am wrong, but in November 2014 43 important areas of legislation will pass to the EU. They will then be subject to QMV (qualified majority voting ) by all 27 member states. This effectively removes our choice to secede. Ths is why Cameron wanted a fixed term Parliament to last until 2015. As I say, I hope very much I am wrong, but that is my understanding.
Welcome to the NWO.

Sorry to be pedantic Mr. Ray, but I think you'll find it is Article 50, not 52.
Anyway, for anyone the slightest bit worried about our loss of Democracy, have a butchers' at this....

If this is true why don't UKIP print a plain english version and distribute it. That way there's no doubt over the duplicitous behaviour of The Tories, Labour and the Lib Dems in this. If it is true, there's no way that it can be left until after this event to hold a referendum.

I was hoping that if Mr Ray reads these posts perhaps he, or UKIP could shed some light on this? How about it?

I feel that this will enable other countries not happy with the EU to also start a debate in the EU. I can't for one minute think we are the only country that is happy with chipping away of sovereignty, by the unelected commissioners.

Agree with Dave. We might be the first domino to fall but the rest will come tumbling after. If the French really are bankrupt and we leave, I can't see the Germans being happy to bankroll the rest.
Let's remain friends and trading partners but leave dictatorship to the developing world

UKIP need to focus on the cost of welfare and health tourism from Eastern Europe. Even those in work will be able to claim a raft of welfare subsidies after a short perion of time.

Factor in health education and even pension entitlements as on costs and it is not hard to see why open door immigration from Eastern Europe is bankrupting this country.

This is the story the LIB/LAB/Cons don't want to talk about.

I would leave the EU simply to regain control over our borders and immigration policy.

Please read UKIPs' manifesto, Sir.

"End open-door immigration"

"Withhold all State benefits from immigrants for five years"

"Introduce proper border controls"

"Freeze all immigration for five years..."

"Deport all illegal immigrants and failed asylum seekers"

Is that not focussing?
Vote OUT of the EUSSR and get our Country back

The trouble with UKIP's immigration policy is that they call for a five year freeze followed by "balanced migration", i.e one third worlder in for every person that leaves.
As close on 300,000 are currently leaving every year that will result in the equal amount from Africa and Asia coming in.
Their policy will have the same terminal effect on the UK as the lib/lab/cons, it will just take a little longer.

Agreed Sir, what i would like is "balanced repatriation". At the present rate the indigenous population will become a minority in their (our) own country in about 50 years. This cannot be down to mere stupidity on the part of politicians. It is all part of a plan to destroy homogenity, create a great melting pot where nationalism is submerged.
The question is....what do we do about it?

They need to push this aspect of their policy more. It is done at present in half hearted way so as not appear to be a BNP type party.

Limiting welfare and health access to migrants It is a huge vote winner. As a UK tax payer I am sick of subsidising low wages for Eastern European migrants via tax credits and of course benefit and health tourism.

UK plc was in a far healthier state pre 2004 before the influx began.

The irony is there is no true diversity in Nigeria or Pakistan!

Africa for the Africans..Asia for the Asians..Western Europe..for any one who wants to roll up here for a better life.
