CCTV images have been released of two men who left a restaurant without paying. 

Essex Police are trying to trace the pair who, along with two women, ordered food at TGI Fridays in Lakeside and then walked out without making any attempt to pay. 

Anyone with information about the pair, who were in the restaurant at 7.40pm on Sunday, January 6, is asked to call PC Nicola Hadfield on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

If you are going to install CCTV why not invest in one that records pictures of a better quality, most CCTV recorded pictures seem like a waste of time.

I would have thought a big business like tgi fridays would have invested in higher quality cctv technology than this, all we can see is a blurry image of a man and being as it is such low quality that on its own makes catching this man very slim.. so what tgi fridays??? invest in HIGHER quality cctv equipment.

My mate who is a bit thick once went into a restaurant, paid for his meal, then sneaked out without eating it. I did laugh so much.

So if there were also two women present there are four people who walked out without paying, not just the two men. Why not try to trace them all?

I would have thought that police time could be better spent chasing burglars, hit an runs, car thefts, ABH etc rather than the theft of maybe £100 from a large nationwide company!

they could have took finger prints from the cutlery and glass wear...also taken DNA samples and matched them up on the databases or stored them for when they eventually get pulled in for some other crime, and a good catch them 2 girls got in those two geezers...they can't even pay a food bill and everyone has to do a runner...i bet they played knock down ginger after.

I normally walk out without any thought of paying. The wife moans a bit about why I always leave it to her to pay but, hey, she is so much better at avoiding tipping than I am so why not?

Ive considered doing this before when sitting in one of these food chains waiting for someone to bring a bill or take a payment for 15-20 minutes. Id like to see the full cctv footage of the incident to decide if they originally set out to be dishonest.

As a second note, do they really think they will ID someone with those terrible cctv camera pictures?

i hope if they catch these " evil nasty persons"that owners of this greaseburger joint get the option by the police to prosecute if you do not they will not come out again most big stores do not nick shoplifters you just get banned the police will only come if the store is going to prosecute its the same with petrol station non payers

No footage of them leaving the shopping centre on foot to the car then?

It's no wonder people get away with so much crime .. Given the technology we have today i think it's a joke that simple and clear pictures can't be obtained to get these parasites banged up.
