Can you be a retained firefighter?
7:00am Thursday 24th January 2013 in News
THE fire service is looking for carers, parents and graduates, among others, to join its retained fire crew at Corringham fire station.
The service has vacancies for aspiring firefighters and is calling on physically fit “stay at home mums and dads” to join its brave team.
Any applicant would need to be able to respond to a pager and get from home to Corringham fire station within four to five minutes.
Station Officer Geoff Wheal said: “We are looking at new groups of people who may not want a full-time job, but are looking to get involved in a career opportunity that allows them to strike a good balance between work and home.
“We know there’s a wealth of people at home during the day that would welcome the opportunity of extra income while doing something that is extremely valuable to the community where they live.”
Anyone interested in the Corringham posts should call the service’s human resources department on 01376 576000.
