THURROCK Council’s portfolio holder is urging everyone in Thurrock to active in the new year.
Labour councillor Victoria Holloway has taken up a gym membership with the council’s leisure centre operator Impulse.
She said: “There are loads of free classes at Impulse and you don’t even need to be a member to take part.
“The council’s partners are supporting our aim of encouraging people to get and stay healthy and active – so there are a variety of different offers in January.
“It doesn’t really matter what you do to get active, just as long as you do it.
“Whether you go to the gym or go for a walk or perhaps fancy doing something more sporty, or more daring there are lots of opportunities across the borough to get involved.”
