Get unwanted electricals picked up for free
7:00am Thursday 10th January 2013 in News
THURROCK Council will be collecting unwanted electrical equipment and disposing of it for free this month.
Anyone who wants to get rid of anything, from a fridge freezer to a hairdryer, can book an appointment to arrange for it to be collected by calling 01375 366071.
Victoria Holloway, the council’s environment portfolio holder, said: “If it’s got a plug, we’ll shift it.
“If you contact us we’ll come and collect and dispose of it properly.
“Just for January we are offering all residents of Thurrock the chance to clear their homes of this unwanted space-filling equipment, for free.”
After January, residents will be expected to dispose of their own equipment, or pay somebody to do it for them, safely and legally.
