HE might be in the Celebrity Big Brother house and fast becoming a household name, but the mum of Stanford-le-Hope’s Rylan Clark said he is “just normal” to her.

Linda Clark has spoken of her pride at her son accomplishing another dream and joining the 11 celebrity housemates for this year’s series of the reality show on Channel 5.

It’s early days, but the former model and controversial X Factor contestant is already the hot favourite to win.

Ms Clark said: “I have been proud of him all this year. I just hope he stays himself and doesn’t swear a lot.

“They all seem nice in there, Spencer and Heidi seem a bit rude, but then again he will sus people out, I just hope he gets on with everyone.

“Everyone keeps telling me he’s this household name, but really I don’t feel any different with him, it’s weird.”

After getting the boot from X Factor Rylan has been busy travelling up and down the country for various public appearances, but he still made time to spend New Year’s Eve with his mum, which gave Ms Clark the perfect opportunity to tell her son “not to make a mess” in the Big Brother house and to be himself.

It also won’t just be Big Brother watching over him.

She added: “I will be watching him all the time and seeing what he’s doing.”
