PEOPLE looking for work will be able to get free travel on bus routes subsidised by Thurrock Council.
The council is taking part in the national Bus For Jobs scheme, being run by the major bus operators and the Greener Journeys Campaign, throughout January.
The scheme aims to make it easier for unemployed people to attend job interviews and other appointments and help them overcome the cost barriers they face with the Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount Card.
The card enables the holder to travel free on almost every local bus service operated by First, Arriva, Stagecoach, Go-Ahead and National Express buses, and some run by smaller operators, on presentation of the card.
Not all commercial bus operators are participating.
For more information, contact your nearest Jobcentre Plus branch.
