THURROCK Conservative’s have announced a new spokesman for health.
This comes after Cllr Sue MacPherson, who had been in the role, was forced to resign from the post due to family commitments.
Councillor for Stanford West, Shane Hebb, will be the group’s new spokesman before a permanent shadow cabinet is announced after the budget.
The 25-year-old councillor was first elected in May 2011 and sits on the planning committee.
Thurrock Tory leader Cllr Phil Anderson said: “I would like to put on record my appreciation for all Sue’s hard work in recent years.
“I understand that at this time, she needs to put her family commitments first and I fully support her in that decision.
“I am pleased to announce that Cllr Shane Hebb will become our Health spokesman on an interim basis, supported by Cllr Mike Revell.
“Shane has already made his mark as a ward councillor since being elected to represent Stanford West, and is well placed to hit the ground running in this crucial area.
“Permanent shadow cabinet arrangements will be announced after the Budget.”
