UK POWER Networks has apologised to residents in Bulphan after more than 300 homes in the village were hit with a series of power cuts over the weekend.

Some homes experienced power outages on Saturday, and on Sunday, 342 homes were without electricity for 20 minutes from 10.37am, then again for ten minutes at 1.35pm, and again for around three minutes at 9.10pm.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “Power has been restored to Bulphan customers following a series of short interruptions to their electricity supply this weekend, caused by a fault on a private electricity network which affected UK Power Networks’ equipment.

“We always encourage customers to call us on our 24 hour Powercut helpline on 0800 7838838 if their electricity supplies are affected at any time.

“The fault on the private network has now been repaired and we have liaised with the owners to help us ensure reliability for the future.

“We would like to reassure customers that we worked as quickly as was safely possible to restore their electricity supplies and to identify the cause of the problem and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
