FIVE pupils from TipToe Stage School in South Ockendon have gained scholarships to the British Theatre Dance Association.
The pupils were signed up after attending the BTDA’s annual scholarship day, where high achieving students take part in a gruelling day of workshops including assessed classes in modern and ballet.
In addition, each pupil must perform a solo routine, choreographed personally, and face an interview panel with the BTDA examining board.
The school’s principal, Julie Barker, said: “I am very proud of the girls and this award highlights their commitment to learning and securing a bright future for themselves.”
The school is currently working towards its next annual show which is in April 2013.
Anyone wishing to join classes and be part of the show can find out more by going online to www.tiptoestageschool.co.uk, or calling 07940 521864.
