More lorries bound for Wharf Road in Stanford-le-Hope
12:00pm Saturday 24th November 2012 in News
A PLANNING application which will see more lorries using Wharf Road in Stanford-le-Hope has been given the green light.
Thurrock Council’s planning committee approved a bid to use part of a vacant site in Stanhope Industrial Park to be used for open storage at its meeting on Thursday night.
The move is sure to enrage residents, who are already at loggerheads with company Squibb Demolition, which currently operates out of the park, about the amount and timings of lorries going to and from the industrial site.
The open storage facility could lead to 72 more HGV movements every day.
