Well thank god for that. Thurrock win on penalties. Think it was the only way we were going to get a goal here, let alone a winner.
Penalty breakdown:

Brentwood, Doyle... goal
Thurrock, Dormer... miss
Brentwood, Bantick... miss
Thurrock, Paul... goal

And that, bar a few missed chances in the first half, largely by Bantick, is the story of the game.
Thurrock join Aveley in the last 16. Thank you for following tonight!

GOAL! Thurrock 1 - 0 Brentwood Town
9:44pm
Jeffries will take the first for Thurrock...
9:44pm
They're shooting at the changing room end, to my right, for anyone who knows Ship Lane.
9:43pm
A dire game in truth.
No side looked like winning it in the second half. I'd say Brentwood were the better side overall, but Bantick missed a hatful of decent chances.
Just waiting to see which end the penalties will be taken at and who will go first.
9:40pm
And that is it.
PENALTIES
9:39pm
Again the ball doesn't beat he first man. Luke Wanadio then leads a counter attack, but he shoots over from outside the box.
Think that will be that.
9:38pm
Corner for Brentwood now. Good stuff by Thompson. Last chance surely?
9:36pm
Free kick to Brentwood...About 30 yards out, right of goal. Ball crossed in. Viner collects.
9:34pm
Clark's corner doesn't beat the first man.
More outrageous though is that six minutes has been added on. SIX!?
9:32pm
Better from Fleet. Wanadio, now playing pretty central, plays it wide, and Brentwood concede a corner...
9:30pm
Another chance for Brentwood and serial chance-misser Bantick. Llewellyn threads the ball through to Rees who looks to go round Viner. Viner does enough to prevent that and as the ball spins up, Bantick strikes. Thurrock have enough players back on the line to put Bantick off and his half volley goes wide. Should have done better.
9:28pm
Nice stuff from Brentwood. Reed turns on the edge of the box and plays in Dingli. He shoots at the near post, but Viner saves and gathers.
9:25pm
Daryl Robson is coming on for the visitors. He replaces Connor Witherspoon.
Penalties pending here at Ship Lane?
9:22pm
One of Thurrock's first chances in a while. They spring on the counter attack. McNamara feeds it to Jordan Clark but his shot across goal is tame, trickling wide.
9:19pm
And he wins a free kick with his first involvement, near the Thurrock corner. But Fleet clear.
9:18pm
Here he is. Alex Read is coming on for Town. He replaces Lewis Frost.
9:16pm
Norris is down and receiving treatment. He's going to make way. Lewis Clark coming on for him.
9:15pm
Better from Thurrock. Retaining possession in Brentwood's half - and Berry strikes on target on the edge of the area, but Justham holds it.
9:12pm
Lewis Frost heads over a Bantick corner.
9:11pm
Wanadio has a shot deflected into the arms of Justham: Thurrock's first effort on target since the interval.
Rees slices the ball wide from 25 yards for Town.
9:09pm
Bantick goes close again. Good play from him. Runs across the edge of the area, the space opens up and he strikes just wide.
Thurrock have barely had the ball in Brentwood's half.
9:08pm
Rhys Paul just receiving some treatment for a head injury.
9:06pm
Changes for Fleet now.
Honesty is replaced by Bobby Dormer
Ibe is replaced by Lewis Clark.
9:05pm
Corner for Fleet, won by Wanadio.
Headed wide by Jeffries.
9:03pm
Another chance goes begging for Town. This time Bantick intercepts on the edge of his own box, travels the length of the pitch unchallenged, but scuffs his shot wide. He didn't look too sure what to do with it.
At the other end, Ibe shoots over from outside the box.
8:58pm
Corner for Town, won by Rees. Now they have another. They're all over Fleet in the early stages of this second half.
8:55pm
Town have started much the brighter. They're helped by Thurrock's defenders persistently giving the ball away. Viner already been called into action, collecting a couple of crosses.
8:48pm
KICK OFF - Second half.
8:48pm
No changes by the looks of things. Hopefully we'll see the prolific Read before long.
8:46pm
Players coming out for the second half now.
If scores are still level after 90 minutes, we have penalties!
8:37pm
Well what to say about that..?
Brentwood have had the better chances but squandered all of them.
First Thompson, through on goal, shot over.
Then Bantick, through on goal, shot wide.
Thurrock have had most of the ball but been a little clumsy in possession. Wanadio, as always, looks dangerous but Honesty as been anonymous. Robbie Norris and Sam Berry have been good in the middle, but Thurrock not creative enough yet.
Still, the second half can't be any worse...
8:33pm
Nice build up from Fleet and this time McNamara gets a shot off, but it's easy for Justham.
And that's half time!
8:31pm
Best chance and best move of the game from Town and they should lead.
Thompson carries the ball in from the left, makes for goal but cleverly disguises a pass to Bantick who's in space on the edge of the box. Through on goal and looking certain to score, he slides the ball just wide.
8:29pm
More carelessness from Fleet in possession midway inside their own half and they concede a corner.
Town play it short and again Fleet deal with it comfortably. Needless to conceded set piece though.
8:28pm
Sam Berry witha free kick from the left, Griffin heads over at the back post.
8:27pm
Nice from Norris. Collected the ball from Wanadio who had cut in from the left. A clever touch (not convinced it was intentional) saw him beat his marker. His shot from 30 yards was good: low and on target, but Justham got across to his right to save.
8:24pm
Best chance for Thurrock is missed.
Nice work down the left by Wanadio. He goes to cross, checks his run and plays a low ball into McNamara, who flicks it up and volleys with his back to goal. It ends up being a better cross, but Ibe heads over from 6-yards. Tricky header to execute given the pace on the ball, but should have done better.
8:21pm
Ibe seems to be the target of several tough Town tackles. Ted Llewellyn is the latest to be booked for a late challenge that sends Ibe flying.
He appears to be ok after earlier concerns.
8:19pm
A booking, the first of the game to Sam Bantick. Deserved too, it's a late, late tackle on Griffin. Not the first by Bantick either.
8:16pm
Freekick to Brentwood is played short to Rees who, unchallenged, strides toward goal. His shot is deflected behind for a corner, which Onyenmah deals with at the near post.
8:11pm
Another good chance for Town. This time Bantick glides down the left hand side, gets to the touchline and tries to cut it back to Thompson, but Jeffries just does enough.
As the ball came back to Bantick, who looked to be offside, I think his effort from close range but on the touchline hits the post.
Town on top at the moment.
8:08pm
Big chance missed by Thompson for Town!
Lovely dinked pass by Bantick, after Fleet misplace another pass in midfield, sets Thompson away. He carries the ball towards goal but shoots over as he enters the box. Let off for Thurrock.
They've been a bit slap-dash in possession.
8:06pm
The free kick is dealt with, as is Stokes ball back in. Easy for Thurrock defensively.
And now they have a corner of their own, as Onyenmah's cross is deflected behind.
8:04pm
Ibe is down following a bad tackle by Bantick. Oddly, the referee has given the free kick against Ibe, but he's writhing around in pain on the centre circle.
Receiving lengthy treatment, but think he's ok.
8:03pm
Good chance for Robbie Rees. Martyn Stokes beat Ibe on the right and sent in a deep cross which Rees got to ahead of Griffin at the back post, but he couldn't quite get enough on it and Viner gathers.
8:01pm
Aside from two or three big tackles, it's been a low key affair so far. Thurrock have begin stringing some passes together, but have been largely ineffective so far.
Honesty starts up front. Stimson hinted after Saturday's thrashing of Kingstonian that centre forward could be his new position.
7:57pm
Jack Jeffries skippers Fleet tonight, by the way.
7:56pm
Thurrock tending to fire balls up towards Ibe and Honesty early on, to say it isn't working would be fair. Witherspoon and Stokes having an easy time of it so far.
7:55pm
Tackles (all clean) flying in as Thurrock defend the edge of their box.
7:54pm
Free kick in the middle of the park for Brentwood. Thurrock enjoying most of the possession early on. The free kick comes to nothing as Thurrock mop up again.
7:52pm
Not a bad start here. Both sides have had the ball in the box. But no real chances yet.
Thurrock have a few notable absentees. Skipper Stu Thurgood, Jack Paxman, Matt Turpin, Charlie Stimson, Ben Walster, Richie Jones are all rested.
Alex Read, who has 19 goals already this season and 10 in his last four, is on the bench.
7:47pm

7:39pm
It's a bit quiet here at Ship Lane. As empty as i've seen it. But it's Ryman League Cup. It's an Essex derby and there are a few familiar faces in the line-ups.
You might have made a sound decision in joining me, here, LIVE from Ship Lane.
We're minutes from kick off!
