IMAGES showing the moment that two armed robbers raided a petrol station in Corringham have been released by police.

One man, dressed in a grey Adidas hoody, threatened the garage worker with a handgun, while his accomplice, who wore a black mask, stole hundreds of pounds in cash, a stash of cigarettes and scratch cards.

Following the raid which took place at around 9.30pm on Thursday night, the pair made their getaway in a new, white Ford Focus.

Essex Police Investigating officer DC Rob Brook said: "This was a frightening robbery for the cashier who was ordered at gunpoint to open the till and hand over the cash.

"The CCTV images show that the man with the gun has an especially large nose and grey hair showing under the hooded top.

"The other man is clearly also middle-aged with grey hair showing above the scarf tied around his face."

Anyone with information about the men or the car should contact DC Brook at Grays Serious Crime Team on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
