Pedestrian seriously hurt in collision with motorbike

A PEDESTRIAN is in hospital following a serious incident in Aveley this morning.
The man collided with a blue BMW motorcycle near the funeral directors in the High Street, shortly after 6am.
The man, from Grays, had a head injury and was taken to Basildon Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
The motorcyclist, also a man from Grays, was taken to Basildon Hospital after sustaining minor injuries, but has since been discharged.
A section of the road was closed for around five hours while forensic officers examined the crash scene.
Essex Police has urged any witnesses to the crash to contact the Laindon road policing unit on 101.
