Time to bid for primary school place

PARENTS of children born between September 1, 2008, and August 31, 2009, have until mid-January to apply for primary school places.
Admissions opened on Thursday and will stay open until January 15 next year.
A spokesman for the council said: “Although there are sufficient primary places across Thurrock, some schools will be over-subscribed, with the result that places in some areas will be very tight.
“Parents are reminded of the importance of getting their applications in on time and properly.”
