See Santa and his elves at Lakeside this Thursday
3:30pm Tuesday 30th October 2012 in News
FATHER Christmas and his elves are set to parade through Lakeside Shopping Centre on Thursday.
The special parade, which will also feature Christmas fairies, is being held to celebrate the opening of Santa’s Grotto.
From 4pm to 8pm the shopping centre will be transformed into a winter wonderland complete with music from a jazz band, barber shop group and harmony choir, and free gifts for shoppers who take part in a photo challenge.
There will also be a grand prize draw to win a hamper crammed full of toys, free face painting, and festive craft activities near Debenhams on level one.
All the fun is free, including entry to the grotto, which will open at the end of the parade.
The grotto experience includes a 3D cinema, with a brand new film for this year, and a gift for every child, subject to availability.
Lakeside’s acting marketing manager, Kylie Minor, said: “Over 33,000 children visited Santa in our grotto last year, so we’re looking forward to welcoming lots of families again this year that can all enjoy the magic for free.”
The grotto is open every day right up until Friday, December 24.
Families can pre-book online at www.lakeside.uk.com/grotto.
