Rocks far from their best, but they lead at half-time through a Sam Higgins header on 30 minutes.

Thurrock finished the half well and have worked hard, but have been unable to turn any of their good play into chances.

At half time, it's 1-0!

The corner wasn't great, but it landed at the feet of Thurgood, who feigned to shoot, dragged the ball back, but then shot high over the bar from on the edge of the area.

It's all got a bit scrappy since the goal. Late challenges, off-the-ball scuffles. Thurrock on top at the moment, but Rocks just about dealing with the Fleet threats.

The referee is determined to keep all players on the pitch, despite the best efforts of the players to get sent off! Ruel and Jones have to be seperated for a little scuffle, as they mark eachother for a throw-in. And minutes earlier, Stimson catches Parmenter in the face.

Great chance for two, missed by Higgins. Great ball in by Newby to the back post, and somehow Higgins heads into the ground and over, with the goal at his mercy.

Sam Higgins continues his fine scoring form, heading home Tom Stephen's corner. The goal did seem to be coming and it's the hosts that take the lead!

Strange times at Rookery Hill. Rocks players are left incensed as a poor back pass is played to Hughes by Jones, Araba bears down on him, Hughes tries to beat Araba, with the latter then judged to have fouled the Fleet keeper, when Rocks thought the foul was the other way round.

The free kick, taken by Newby is saved, spilt and how Rocks didn't turn in the rebound, I will never know. Araba had a stab at it, I think Harrison did, too. Eventually, the linesman's flag went up for offside. A lucky escape for Thurrock, in several ways!

Yellow card for Matt Turpin and he's a lucky boy to still be on. Araba was away and Turpin definitley held him back. Ref obviously feels Araba had a lot to do still, hence the card being yellow not red.

Good effort from Araba after he took down a long ball by Sammons. Hughes collects but after pre-match rain, the surface is slippy. A few players have slipped early on. Can see a low shot deceiving one of the keepers here.

Harry Honesty has just shot high and wide after Fleet stretched Rocks for the first time in the game. Wanadio cut in from the right, and laid it into Honesty who turned to face goal but was off balance as he shot from 18 yards.

Good start to the game. East Thurrock seeing lots of the ball early on, Parmenter has already played a couple of exquisite probing passes into the danger area.
