Jimmy and Chas set for a right old knees up!

Jimmy Jones Jimmy Jones

LEGENDARY comic Jimmy Jones will be at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet for a Cockney Knees Up on Saturday, November 17.

Jones will be joined by Chas, of Chas ‘n’ Dave fame.

X-rated comic Jones, who lives in Havering, actually wanted to be a priest until the age of 11, when a nun urged him to go into showbiz.

The 75-year-old is credited with being one of the first comics to really push the boundaries, and several celebrities, including the late Dudley Moore, Tom Sellick and rock bands the Rolling Stones and Status Quo have said in the past he is their favourite comedian.

Chas ‘n’ Dave split after more than 40 years as a duo in 2009, following the death of Dave Peacock’s wife, Sue.

The duo were at the height of their popularity in the 1980s, responsible for hits including Snooker Loopy, Rabbit, Rabbit, and Ain’t No Pleasing You.

Chas and His Band will be singing the greatest hits of the duo at the event.

Doors open at the event, which is strictly for over-18s, at 7pm.

Admission only tickets are £15. To book, call the Circus Tavern box office on 01708 863838.
