Man hurt after being trapped at tolls
3:10pm Wednesday 24th October 2012 in News
THE air ambulance was called to the Dartford Crossing last Thursday after a man got his leg trapped between his car and a toll booth.
Firefighters from Dartford managed to free the man, who got into difficulty while trying to pay at the booth at about 12.30pm.
It is believed a problem caused the man to lean out of his car, and his foot slipped and hit the accelerator instead of the break.
The car then jumped forward, trapping his leg.
Firefighters used specialist equipment to free the man and he was taken to Darent Valley Hospital with minor injuries.
Two fire engines, Highways Agency officers, police, ambulance and the air ambulance attended the incident, which was dealt with in 20 minutes.
