A CORRINGHAM school has committed to working with local charity St Luke’s Hospice.

Gable Hall School has offered a great deal of support in the last 19 years, donating thousands of pounds.

Now the school has gone a step further by pledging to support the charity more thoroughly, by nominating a charity champion, keeping in touch with the hospice, monitoring the website and Facebook page, organising and volunteering at events.

The school’s pledge was recognised by St Luke’s Hospice with the presentation of a plaque last week.

Headteacher Dr Sophina Asong said: “It is through charitable community efforts such as these that our young people demonstrate team-working, charity and community enterprise, which make up our core values.”
