Jenkins has high hopes for DWTS

Katherine Jenkins might have a leg up on some of her Dancing With The Stars competitors - she's already used to high heels.

The Welsh mezzo-soprano has been practising for America's version of Strictly Come Dancing in London with professional partner Mark Ballas, and he reckons her preference for running around in stilettos will work to her advantage.

The pair fly to the US today (Monday) to join the other competitors, who include Family Matters actor Jaleel White, singer Gladys Knight and tennis star Martina Navratilova.

Katherine and Mark also dismissed rumours that they're romantically linked off the dance floor.

Katherine, who split from TV presenter fiance Gethin Jones late last year, said: "We knew each other for just twelve hours, and in the press we are now dating."

The new season of Dancing With The Stars begins on March 19.
