THE Severalls Concert Group are in song this week for their annual summer concert.
Following the success of their 50th anniversary season last year, the troupe are back at Alderman Blaxill School in Colchester with another jam-packed tribute to the West End.
Originally called the Severalls Hospital Concert Group, it was formed by a group of hospital staff in 1958, who wanted to put on a show for the patients. In 1997, when the hospital closed, the group decided to carry on.
With creative director Maria Miller at the helm, the cast of more than 50 are preparing numbers from Phantom, Ghost, Wicked and a rather special drag queen set from Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
Severalls Concert Group present Musical Melodies at Alderman Blaxill School, Paxman Avenue, Colchester, tomorrow until Saturday, June 9, at 7.30pm, plus a 2.30pm performance on the Saturday.
Tickets are £8 adults, £6 for children and pensioners via 01206 512228 or severalls.com
