AT the October meeting of the Thurrock U3A, members were told of the continuing success of the various groups.

The Sunday Singles Lunch Club, in particular, has a record membership. There are still places vacant in the second aqua aerobics group.

The theatre group is now booking the pantomime Cinderella, starring Brian Conley.

The guest speaker was Meryl Catty, who both amused and instructed the audience with her extensive knowledge of the origins of words and phrases.

The next meeting will be at 10am on November 25 at the Civic Hall, Grays.
