My post has been a bit haphazard recently – yesterday it didn’t turn up at all!

I’m sure William and Kate can’t have forgotten me, especially since I’ve been an ardent supporter of the royals.

Somehow, I think I may have to get used to disappointment and resign myself to watching the big day on the big screen.

Never mind. We’re planning some special events in Thurrock that could be every bit as good as the grand ceremony in London.

In Grays, Corringham and Stanford, we are organising street parties to bring the community together to celebrate.

On The Green in Stanford-le-Hope we’re planning to watch the service on big screens, have some games for children and families and eat, drink and be merry! There will also be a chance to renew your own wedding vows in St Margaret’s if you’d like to, courtesy of yours truly!

Drop me a line to get involved on 01375 670582 or e-mail Gof4God@aol.com. I can put you in touch with those organising in your area. Even if you’re not a fan of the royals or weddings, you couldn’t turn down an invitation to a party, could you? Diary in the date – Friday, April 29. We’ve all got the day off!

I love weddings and am in favour of monarchy. After all, the bible tells me I have been adopted into the family of the King of kings and that makes me royalty too! To paraphrase C.S. Lewis “once a king or queen of the Kingdom, always a kind or queen of the Kingdom”.

I don’t wear a crown most days but I do try to remember how special I am to God. Special enough to be part of His family and one day to be part of a royal wedding in heaven. I’d love to see you there. – JOHN.
