THURROCK U3A

ON Wednesday, March 26, the Thurrock branch of U3A held its monthly meeting at the Civic Hall, in Grays.

Chairman Maggie Whitbread announced the theatre trips to see The Wizard of Oz and Singing in the Rain were well booked, as were the two Warner Hotel events to the Dickensian celebration and Holme Lacy and Alvalston Hall.

Plans are going ahead to mark the Olympics and the Queen’s Jubilee. The pitch and putt season is also now under way.

The audience welcomed back the ever popular Mel Rees as the guest speaker, who regaled us with his wry view of living with an elderly parent.
