JENNY White chaired the Guild’s annual general meeting and thanked the committee and members for their support.
Pat Spencer, secretary, gave a summary of the guild’s activities over the past year, reminding members of the excellent speakers Sheila Drake had booked.
Joyce Brice won the Janet Dolezal Trophy for achieving top score in the monthly competitions, with Trudi English and Pat Arnold in second.
Trudi, on behalf of members, thanked the committee for their continued hard work.
The evening was rounded off with a short quiz, won by Barbara Purser, and bingo, with Diane Biggs and Pat Spencer being several times lucky.
The next meeting is at 7.30pm on April 11 in Corringham Village Hall, when Harold Irons will continue his very interesting, personal memories of being an RAF rear gunner in the Second World War.
Harold supports and raises money for the new memorial to Bomber Command in Green Park being unveiled by the Queen in June.
The competition is a commemorative or decorative tin. Visitors will be very welcome.
