A member of the Lions Club of Thurrock reminded the Lions present at a business meeting of March 23, 2009 of the need to input ICE into their mobile phones.
The Club highlighted the need to reach the wider community about the concept of ICE (In Case of Emergency).
ICE should be entered into your mobile followed by a name and number of a relative or partner/spouse.
If a member of the public was involved in an accident the emergency services would look for an ICE name and number in the mobile phone of the accident victim.
They would then advise the partner/spouse or nominated person of the accident.
Lions undertook a collection on behalf of Marie Curie Cancer Support at Sainsbury’s in Chafford Hundred on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 March. The collection netted £1,600 and the Lions would like to extend their thanks to the ever generous public for their continued support of this worthy cause.
The Lions are grateful to Sainsbury’s for allowing them to hold the collection within their premises.
