Thurrock branch of the University of the Third Age held its October meeting at the Civic Hall, Grays.
Chairperson Maggie Whitbread introduced the speaker, Tricia Gurnett, who gave a very well researched and informed talk, illustrated by slides, of the Palace of Westminster and the conduct of Parliament.
Maggie later reported that she had received a grant of £220 from Stanford and Corringham Rotary Club
