JENNY White, chairman, welcomed members to the annual Beetle Drive. Before play, Pat Spencer read her report of the Federation meeting in Prittlewell.

In the autumn the south-east group will be holding a harvest lunch, craft dabble day and Christmas concert given by their choir. Ten members will be joining their coach trip to Winchester Cathedral for the National Carol Service.

The guild’s beetle drive was played very speedily.

Pat Spencer achieved the highest score and a record five beetles. She won the pot plant.

A bring and buy sale raised much-needed guild funds before the meeting closed.

Carol Tinworth won the monthly competition with a pretty watch.

David Mott will be speaking on the history of St Mary’s Church in Corringham on Wednesday, September 11, in Corringham Village Small Hall at 7.30pm.

The competition is a candlestick. Visitors will be very welcome.
