Dear Kerry,

I think my 15-year-old is being bullied at school. I’m not 100 per cent sure, but he has changed.
He is withdrawn and rude and acting very differently. I don’t know him any more and this is affecting me.
What can I do to help him?
Rachel, 42, Aveley

Dear Rachel,

Noticing changes in your child, particularly when you feel you can’t help them, can be difficult to observe.
It may be difficult for you to be able to speak to him. If so, is there anyone else who can? Sometimes we are too in-
volved to do it ourselves.
Have you been in touch with the school’s pastoral care, as they might be able to support and encourage your son to talk.
I would encourage you to contact Therapy for You, as it would seem we could support you while you are supporting your son.
l You can call Therapy For You on 01268 739128, email confidential@therapy
foryou.co.uk, visit the website therapyforyou.co.uk or ask your GP.
