Shaved – Nell gets a trim from Joanne Sweeting
Nell Edwards, 48, a teacher at Woodside Primary School, Grays, had the big trim during a special assembly on Friday.
Mrs Edwards needs £1,350 to provide about 50 toilets for families in the town of Gorkha.
She said: “I was quite nervous about having my hair shaved, but families in Nepal desperately need toilets.
“I think the staff are going to bring in a load of wigs for me to wear.”
Mrs Edwards and husband Dennis, 65, founded the Gorkha Learning For Life charity ten years ago.
It aims to helping the people of Gorkha, bring education and health to their children. Find out more at www.gorkhalearning.com.
