A COMMUNITY club has given back to the town after funding signs for a primary school.
Brandon Groves Community Club generously funded much-needed “no parking signs” for Benyon Primary School in South Ockendon after people continued to park illegally.
Claire Johnson, a volunteer committee member who has children at the school, raised concerns about the parking problems to her fellow committee members after witnessing continued parking issues.
She said: “It’s sad to see that people are willing to put the children at risk simply to save a minute or two.
“We are lucky enough to have a free car park just across the road as well as a daily crossing guard, so there is no excuse for parking illegally.”
The committee and school are hoping these signs will prove to be a good deterrent and bring awareness to the safety of the children.
